Functional Fitness is constantly varied, functional movements, performed at high intensity… What that really means is Functional Fitness is preparing you for anything life may throw at you. It is a unique combination of strength, gymnastics, and endurance training. You come to workout with friends and family, you don’t have to know what you are doing our coaches will help you with that. You don’t even have to worry about trying to think up a good workout for the day because we have that covered too. All we need from you is to show up and do your best.
In Functional Fitness, we only perform movements that have a purpose. When you squat, it’s the same as getting up out of a chair or off the floor. When you dead lift, it’s the same as picking up your suitcase from the ground, etc. We just want to teach you how to do it safely and efficiently.
Functional Fitness IS for everyone. People see the videos of Functional Fitness online or on ESPN and think “there is no way I can do that”. You have to start somewhere but the key is to start, and once you start, don’t give up. Every workout can be scaled down to ANY level no matter your age, fitness level, weight, etc.
Functional Fitness is a community where you are never alone during a workout, everyone is helping each other push through a workout and cheering you along. These people that are or will turn into your friends and family will help to keep you motivated.
The workouts may vary from 2 minutes to almost an hour in some extreme cases and the reason for that is because you never want your body to get used to the workouts. When that happens it stops reacting to the stresses you are putting it through and in turn, you don’t see results.
This is why people get sick of going to regular gyms. It’s because it is the same thing every week or even every day and they get bored of it and stop seeing results. With Functional Fitness, that will never happen. In a life time of doing Functional Fitness you may never repeat the exact same workout twice, something will always be different.
Our Goal is to help you better your life through fitness. We want to take average people and turn them into athletes, turn athletes into better athletes, and help grandma get out of chairs and up and down the stairs easier. We have a lot of people that are having to rely on wheel chairs, walkers, canes, etc. at a much younger age than they should. This is because they lose normal life functions whether that be they can’t walk well anymore or it’s too difficult to get out of a chair.
We want to help people improve their quality of life through fitness so dad can play catch with his son and run around the yard without being out of breath.
We want to take athletes, young or old, and make them better, faster, stronger, more agile, and limber. Many of the drills and lifts we do will help with body awareness, and coordination that will transfer directly to any sport.
Doing Functional Fitness will not only make you a better athlete but it will help you to stay in shape and play your sport longer than most through the unique combination of strength, gymnastics, and endurance training.
